Why is our work important?

Today’s places of employment are in tremendous flux and transition. Futurists predict that in the next 10-15 years most workers will be self-employed contractors, following work from position to position, company to company. Many of us have been “down-sized”—let go—in the interest of corporate economy. Rebounding from a lay-off can be very trying. So can facing fear–fear of the unknown job market, of a lay-off or a period of no income, of leaving an employment situation that drains us of our energy. Situations that suck our life energy, or hold us hostage out of fear, present us with significant opportunities for spiritual learning. Mastering our fear and experiencing the situation as a spiritual journey or quest liberates us to be who we are truly meant to be, to pursue the work we are truly meant to give the world, to become glorious co-creators of the life we vision.
